Elke Solomon Photographs from her book 'Plenty"

An artist  living in New York, Elke Solomon works comprise of paintings, Prints and drawings, installations and photography.

For the Pythians, we chose to highlight photographs from her book ‘Plenty’ – a collection of observational snapshots and images representing everyday life and commodification of culture.  The photographs range from store windows in a Manhattan to a vendors cart of sun-cured egg yolks in Macao.

Elke Solomon is an artist, curator and educator living in New York City.  She has received numerous awards for her work, is a part of many prestigious permanent collections across the US, and has exhibited in numerous galleries and museums: Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Portland Center for Visual Art, Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery, A.I.R. Gallery among others. She has taught at several schools including: Parsons School of Design, Columbia University, City College of New York, Princeton University.  She has been awarded numerous grants including CAPS, (2) NEA and the present residency in Italy.
